How to Measure for Your SCHÖNE Belt

At SCHÖNE, we believe accessories should make you feel elevated.
That’s why we redesigned our sizing to make choosing your perfect belt simple, intuitive, and confidence-building.

Because here’s the truth:
We don’t care what “size” you are. We care how you feel in what you’re wearing.
The right fit creates clean lines, better proportions, and a polished silhouette. And that’s what matters.

To make it easy, we’ve created two simple ways to measure, both using a tape measure, and both designed to get you into the belt that fits you beautifully.

Before you measure, a quick note:

Where SCHÖNE Classic Belts Are Designed to Sit

Our classic leather belt is a waist belt.
It’s meant to sit at or near your natural waist which is higher than a low-rise jean belt, lower than an empire waist. Think: the place your torso naturally narrows.

If you prefer wearing belts lower on the hips (for low-rise denim or a slouchy silhouette), simply measure at that point.
Where you measure = where the belt will fit.

OPTION 1: Measure Your Waist (Using Your Belt Loops)

This is the most straightforward method, especially if you’re styling the belt with jeans or trousers.

1. Put on the pants you’ll wear with your belt.
Different rises mean different measurements.

2. Feed your tape measure through the belt loops, just like you would with a belt.
Make sure the tape lies flat.

3. Pull the tape snug.
Not tight enough to squeeze, just comfortably fitted.

4. Write down the number.
This is your exact waist measurement at that rise.

5. Match your number to our size chart.
Choose the belt size closest to your measurement.
On a SCHÖNE belt, that number represents the middle of five holes, giving you 2” of adjustment on either side for a polished, refined fit.

OPTION 2: Measure a Belt You Already Love

If you have a belt that fits beautifully, this is your easiest route.

1. Lay your belt flat on a surface.

2. Place the tape measure at the prong of the buckle.
Start just where the leather meets the base of the buckle.

3. Measure to the hole you use most.
That’s the true size of your belt. No guesswork.

4. Write down the number.

5. Match it to our size chart.
Choose the SCHÖNE belt size closest to your measurement.
Again, this will be the center hole, with room to tighten or loosen as needed.

A Note on Fit Philosophy

Our belts are intentionally crafted with:
Five holes
The center hole as the true size
Two inches of adjustability in either direction
Proportions that maintain clean, refined lines

This means you can trust the measurement you choose.
We’re not trying to fit you into a size, we’re making the belt fit you.
